Dr. Jeff Geschwind - Advancing Cancer Care through Innovative Research

Licensed in Connecticut and New York, Dr. Jeff Geschwind is an accomplished clinician/scientist with particular expertise in liver cancer, interventional oncology, and clinical research. He has dedicated decades of his professional life to the management of patients with cancer, and the development of novel therapies for patients with liver cancer. Dr. Jeff Geschwind has treated over 3,000 patients with liver cancer during his career, led or served as co-investigator in over 50 clinical trials testing promising therapies for liver cancer, and published close to 300 scientific manuscripts in highly-rated medical journals.

Dr. Jeff Geschwind currently works as the Medical Director of Oncology, Image-Guided Therapy, and Imaging Core Lab at NAMSA, and as a Physician Advisor for HistoSonics, a company that is developing a non-invasive form of high intensity focused ultrasound therapy that instatenously destroys liver tumors through a mecahnical process. At NAMSA, he oversees the conduct of clinical trials, helps formulate regulatory strategies and clinical trial design for companies developing new medical devices and supervises the Imaging Core Lab to ensure appropriate imaging endpoints are incorporated in clinical trials. Concurrently, he is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of New Phase and a scientific consultant for Philips Healthcare. He has received many awards throughout his career for his pioneering research> As a result of thes eaccomplishments, he was inducted into the Academy of Radiology Research from the Radiology Society of North America, the highest recognition for radiologists.

Dr. Geschwind earned his Medical Degree (MD) from Boston University School of Medicine, and completed his training in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco. He subsequently pursued fellowship training in Interventional Radiology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he remained on faculty for 19 years as a physician, researcher, and professor. Dr. Geschwind was later recruited to Yale School of Medicine as the Chairman of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging and Professor of Radiology and Medicine (Oncology).
